Since the late 1970’s, Peter Koronakos has completed coursework and seminars in photography, ceramics, drawing and sculpture at Western Michigan University as well as at The Kalamazoo Arts Center, California State University, Chico, and the Adult School of Santa Cruz (with George Dymesich). Peter works predominantly with mixed-media constructions, sculpture, and assemblage. Additionally, he works with photography, textiles, glasswork, steel and wood. He credits the work of Jean Tinguely, Francis Bacon, Edward and Nancy Keinholz, the collage works of Kurt Schwitters, the assemblages of Joseph Cornell and the quilts of Nancy Crow, as being inspirational and influential.
Always fascinated with human behavior, Peter holds a BA and MA in Anthropology from Western Michigan University and California State University, Chico respectively.
